Fishing

Today I went fishing at Tokerau beach. Here are some photos that I took.

<This is a photo of me with the biggest snapper we caught on the long line.
We also tried casting the surf casters out to try and catch a kawahi  but we didn't catch any thing.

Brody's lego creation

WALT- We are learning to make a strong bridge out of Lego.

What I learnt- I learnt how to connect pieces that use different pieces of Lego.

1 wish- I wish  you I had all the different Lego pieces so I could use lots of different shapes.

Brody's favourite dinner

WALT-we are learning to write down instructions to make our favourite dinner.
What I learnt- I learnt how to change the font.

       Title-My favourite dinner

My favourite dinner is spaghetti bolognaise.

    Ingredientes ,

1. 1 onion
2. 500g of mince
3. 1 jar of bolognese sauce
4.  1 tin of chopped tomatoes 
5. 1 grated carrot
6. 1 grated courgette
7. 2-3 finely chopped mushrooms
8. ½ a packet of spaghetti noodles  
9. grated cheese.

How to make it 

First get a big fry pan with tall sides

all the way round.

Next put oil in the fry pan then chop the

onion into quite small pieces. Then

add the onion and fry it until

it is nice and soft.

After that add the mince and cook until it is all brown.

Then add 1 grated

carrot and 1 grated

courgette

then add  the bolognese

sauce  and the tin of chopped tomatoes.

After that stir it well then cook it for

forty minutes with the lid on.

Then to cook the noodles you need

one large pot or saucepan that needs to be ½ full of

boiling water.

Then add one tablespoon of olive oil.

Then break the noodles in ½ then add them

to the boiling water.

When the noodles are cooked they will be

nice and soft then drain the water off

the noodles. 

Finally you put some noodles in the bowl

then add some mince on top add grated cheese on top.

 Now you eat it yum yum.

maths problems

WALT- we are learning to use google docs with maths.

What I  learnt-I learnt how to solve problems using the date.

Question 1- 

Mother Bear is making her 5 bear cubs new coats. The coats have 3 buttons each. How many buttons does Mother Bear need? 

My idea 

I think the mother bear needs fifteen buttons to finish making the cubs coats. 

Question 2- 

There is a special number in each of these envelopes. When you get your envelope, open it and find out what your number is. This number is the answer to a maths problem that YOU make up. ​ What is your problem?

Ana is going to see her Grandma in 6 days from now. What is today's date? What date will she see her Grandma?

Snow day

WALT- we are learning to write about the snow.

What I learnt I learnt that you can add an image to your stories.

       Title-snow day 

Today it is snowing,so we decided to have a snow fight.

Splat splat another snowball.

After we finished our snow fight we made a snowman.

When the snowman was done the snowman looked cold
because it had no clothes on, so we put some on him.

Then my brother jumped on it and broke it.

Then we had our lunch and we had hot chocolate and

sandwiches.

Then we made snow castles,when we finished
our snow castles we looked for branches and

leaves to put on our snow castles.

After that we looked for ice to ice skate.

Autumn Leaves

WALT- WE are learning to add adjectives in our writing to make it interesting.

What I learnt- I learnt that in autumn leaves changes colour.


                                    Title- autumn leaves
 In autumn the leaves change into bright colours and fall off the trees. The leaves change colour from green to purple, orange, yellow, red and pink. When you touch the leaves you hear the leaves make a cracking sound because they are dried out.

Home learning writing

WALT- We are learning to write about made up stories.

What I learnt- I learnt how to highlight the words.

You find an old dusty suitcase in your attic.

Describe the things you find inside.

They might have been  made in the 1830s

1.Old pieces of brown ripped paper.

2.Old bites of ripped pirate clothing. 

3.Old books that tell stories from the 1890s.

4.pirates treasure chests.

The shapes of the objects could be shapes joined together to make the shapes look weird when joined together.

WALT-WE are learning to write stories on our device using google Docs.

What I learnt- I learnt how to use google docs for writing stories.

                                                    Title - fishing

On Friday,  me and my Dad went fishing  at tokerau beach.

 When we got there we put out the longline, well my dad baited

the hocks, I chased the seagulls   away ,so the seagulls didn't take the bait.

 when the longline was out at sea me and my dad played

rugby for fifteen minutes.

 Then we had feijoas and 

crackers. 

After that we  made sandcastles for eighteen  minutes.

Then we played some more rugby again for about fifteen minutes.

Then we had more crackers and feijoas.

Finally it was  time to pull the longline in,The first five hocks had no fish,

then on the eighth  hock we finally had a fish, when the long line was pulled in

we caught six

fish and put one back because it was too small.

Then we went home.
